Fall in Full Swing

October 4, 2023

Dear Families,

We have officially moved into fall, and the start of October signals that the school year is well underway. Students have settled into their classes and school routines, and learning, discovery and fun are in full swing.

Thank you to students and family members for attending our Open House last week. It was wonderful to see students showing their adults around our school building with confidence and introducing them to the staff that they work with each day. The event was high-energy and the children seemed to enjoy connecting with friends and teachers, finishing things off with a hot dog in the gym. An extra special thank you is owed to our PAC who put on the social and BBQ!

Bondar has an outstanding and involved PAC (Parent Advisory Council) and they are always looking for new members and volunteers. We encourage anyone who is interested to come out to the next PAC Meeting, which will be Friday, October 27th @ 8:45am in the Library. You can find out more information about the PAC at their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/194544673926361

October is a busy month with the Bondar Pumpkin Patch on Friday, October 13th and Parent Teacher Conferences, October 18th and 19th. There is a Professional Development Day on October 20th (No School) and the following week, the PAC will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair. On Halloween, we will be having a Costume Parade in the gym at 9am in addition to a Dance Performance at 11:00am. We are looking forward to all of the upcoming activities and encourage parents to consult the Dr. Roberta Bondar website for more information about these and other events throughout the school year.

Thank you, Bondar, for being a community that is open and accepting to all people, regardless of the differences we may have among us. At Bondar, everyone is safe, everyone belongs, and everyone is welcome.

Enjoy the fall colours and have a wonderful day!
