On our way to holiday fun!

December 12, 2023

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The holiday season is upon us, which comes with much excitement, events and activities to take part in. This time of year is also when family members can be feeling run down and can catch the flu or other respiratory illnesses like Covid-19.

We have had a number of students come to school sick in the past few weeks. We understand that it can be difficult to navigate keeping kids home sick with responsibilities at work, but in order to prevent the spread of illness, it is very important that children stay home when they are sick. It is particularly important that children stay home if they have vomited or have had a fever within the past 24 hours. You can help your family stay healthy by ensuring that everyone is getting enough sleep, by practicing good hand hygiene, by eating healthy foods and by engaging in physical activity every day. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy and safe!

We have just under two weeks of school left and there are some exciting events coming up. Students will be able to purchase gifts for family and friends at the PAC-run Christmas Market this Thursday, and then they can enjoy tasty treats from the Bake Sale next Tuesday. On Thursday, December 21st we look forward to hosting our families for the Christmas Concert, and on the last day of school, December 22nd, all school community members are invited to join us for Photos with Santa in the Library and a Pancake Breakfast in the gym. A little later that day, families are also invited to join us for Christmas Caroling in the gym @ 11:30am. There will be lots of festive fun happening in the next two weeks.

We have had a successful and joyful start to the year and Winter Break is the time to rest and recharge for more learning in Term Two. Have a safe, fun-filled, healthy holiday season and enjoy some time spent together with family and friends. Happy Holidays, everyone!
