Strong Start, Meaningful Finish
Dear Bondar Families,
As we begin Term 3, we are incredibly proud of the continued growth we are seeing in all of our students. Their increasing confidence, independence, and strong understanding of school routines have allowed them to truly hit the ground running in this final term of the year. This strong foundation means that students are well positioned to maximize their progress and learning as we move through these important final months together.
As we move forward, we would like to take a moment to remind families of a few important school expectations. Students are expected to keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times, helping minimize injuries and accidents between peers. In addition, we continue to emphasize the importance of using kind and respectful language with both classmates and staff. Swearing and derogatory language are not permitted at school. We also remind students and families that Pokémon cards are not allowed at school, as their presence has led to ongoing conflict and upset among students. Thank you for your cooperation and for reinforcing these important expectations at home.
We would also like to remind parents and caregivers to please check in at the front office when visiting the school. If you arrive late with your child, please encourage them to walk down to their classroom independently. Should your child require assistance, our staff are always happy to help. Ensuring that all visitors check in at the office before going to other areas of the school helps us maintain awareness of who is on site and the purpose of their visit, supporting the safety of everyone in our community.
Looking ahead, we are excited to share a new literacy initiative coming to Bondar in the month of May: Snap, Smile, Read! This fun and engaging initiative will invite students and families to share photos of students reading in creative ways. Each week in May, a new theme will be shared, and students, supported by their parents or caregivers, will be encouraged to take a photo of themselves reading in a way that connects to the theme. Students who submit a photo will be entered into a draw to win some new Bondar swag. With a new theme each week, there will be lots of opportunities to participate and win. Stay tuned for more details.
Finally, I’d like to recognize the incredibly important role that parents and caregivers play in their children’s lives. We know how challenging parenting can be, and we are deeply grateful for the time, conversations, encouragement, support, and care you provide each and every day. Your partnership makes a meaningful difference in the school experience of all students and we appreciate you.
We wish everyone a wonderful, sunny weekend ahead.
